Circuit The project of liquid axis transposes the linear and static model of the axis within its historical and political connotation into a multidirectional and dynamic space, as a polysemantic support of the contemporary culture. The axis as a hierarchical organisation of space is transformed into a multidirectional structure by intertwining new systems XL-pleat / S-pleat / City plates within the urban factory. Each of these systems is generated out of the different vectors coming from the local context as well as from the flows of the decontextualized global matrix. The fusion of the heterogeneous data into a single system circuit, instaure the public space as a hybrid matrix generated out of local and global flows. The superposition of the 3 generated systems, intertwined throughout the existing urban matrix transform the static and hierarchic vision of a linear axis into a multidirectional and fluid vision of a field condition n-dimensional system. In consequence the concept of the circuit stands for the transposition of the organisation model of information, network, as well as the organisation systems of electronic flows, printed circuits, into the urban model, the city. -- [The city, an assignment condition] The city defined out of the superposition of various systems take the form of a hypertexture, where the different elements constituting the urban matrix form a system of overlaid networks. --- [The city, an intertextual environment] |

The central space of the urban factory becomes a space compiled out of interconnected fragments a hybrid structure formed out of local and global influences. The circuit assembles the disconnected places of high public intensity (the Vladi market, commercial zones, and touristic areas), into a fluid topography assembled throughout plates, pleats and boards. The extrapolation of the fragmented condition of the axis into a textured space, lead to the principle of a web where each fragment becomes a node, a point of intersection focus, on which converge lines leading from many other fragments. The permanent changing and evolution of these heterogeneous elements influence the structure of the folded circuit, which remains malleable. The uncompleted fragments are joined together and establish, by their interaction, multiple relationship, which have to be permanently reactualised. The circuit transforms the space of the axis into a highly diversified place for event and activity, superimposing a series of layers responding to particular programmatic strategies and contextual requirements. The fluid network of event is opened to immaterial data networks as well as contextual and material fluctuation, becoming an urban interface, between local and global. |
